MICHAEL D. OLMOS
Director
Olmos found his love of storytelling from an
early age. From his fascination of drawing comic books, to his passion for
reading fiction and watching movies, this love of story continues to inspire
him.
Michael's passion for film brought him to Columbia University, NY where he
studied literature during the year and traveled during the summer to
Chiapas, Mexico to document the suffering of the indigenous people of the
region. Running from military backed death squads, while trying to bring
food to refugees and protecting the footage they had captured on film, the
trip, which had begun as little more than a summer adventure became a life
changing journey that cemented his belief in the power of filmmaking.
After
graduating from Columbia with degrees in Creative Writing and Contemporary
American Literature, and working on movies in different departments to learn
all facets of filmmaking, Michael was honored to achieve a top position in
the IFP Film Market Emerging Narratives for his feature script "After
Hours." Read More
